Salvage services
Salvage services
Salvage services form part of ICBC Claims Division with six regional offices conveniently located throughout the province.
Sales are processed utilizing a secure, computerized, closed bid system which enables us to quickly and efficiently serve our customers.
Buying salvage from ICBC
ICBC salvage is sold to registered licenced buyers through salvage web. Each vehicle is sold with a specific designation based on the vehicles age, mileage and damage. Certain designations require the appropriate licensing to purchase.
New salvage platform 2025
Salvage services process an average of 50,000 vehicles per year. To offer a more accessible and transparent market for these vehicles, ICBC is partnering with industry leader IAA to replace the current salvage web with an online auction platform, which will allow salvage buyers to follow auctions as they happen.
See our new platform FAQs to learn more.
No new buyer applications
ICBC is no longer accepting new salvage buyer applications. Only current salvage buyers whose yearly subscription is expiring and requires renewal will be accepted.
To buy ICBC salvage on the new auction platform when it launches in spring 2025, create an IAA Registered Buyer Account.
