Driver training administrative support (DTAS)

DTAS provides administrative and customer support to all industry members, including licensing for instructors, schools and certification programs. DTAS also supports new applicants and responds to general inquires.

Driver school inspectors (DSI)

DSI works with industry partners to provide education guidance to driving schools and instructors. They evaluate instructor and course training effectiveness, support best practices for record keeping and help ensure a clear understanding of driving-training regulations and requirements.

Driver education program advisors (DEPA)

DEPA reviews and approves ICBC-required training curricula and ensures programs meet the requirements for high-quality, safe driver training. They also guide schools and instructors on standards and policies.

Driver training investigation and compliance

Compliance monitors and investigates the activities of the driver training industry to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and ICBC agreements. This includes conducting regulatory and program audits, addressing violations of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, and managing non‑compliance with ICBC Agreements, the Code of Conduct and Road Test Booking Terms and Conditions. They also respond to complaints from the public, industry and ICBC staff, and investigates unlicensed schools or instructors.
