Renewing your driver training school licence
Your school licence must be renewed every year.
Renewal requirements
Your school must continue to be registered with the Registrar of Companies.
If you have increased your number of instructors, you must have adequate bonding.
If you are providing on-road (practical) instruction, your training vehicle(s) must be inspected by an inspection facility and meet safety standards.
What if I don't renew my licence?
The school will be closed and must not deliver any driver training beyond the expiry date.
Delivering driver training without a valid driver training school licence is an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations and is subject to a fine of up to $2,000.
How to renew
To renew your school licence, mail the following to ICBC at least six weeks before your licence expires:
Completed Driver Training School Application
Proof of vehicle inspection report (CVSE0014), if applicable
Payment for licence fees ($100 licence fee, plus $15 for each additional licence). You may complete the credit card payment form provided with the application or send a cheque made payable to ICBC. Do not mail cash.
