Hand therapy

Do you provide hand therapy to ICBC customers injured in a car crash? Here are a few things you need to know.

The Hand Therapy Program and the changes outlined on this page take effect on Sept 27, 2026.

ICBC Recovery Network

Approved Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) who are members of the ICBC Recovery Network must follow the Health Care Direct Billing Terms and Hand Therapy Program Guide, which outline service expectations and responsibilities. Additional information is found in the ICBC Recovery Network FAQ document.

Participate in the Hand Therapy Program

If you are a qualifying CHT, a member of the ICBC Recovery Network, and have provided Hand Therapy treatment to ICBC Customers between April 1, 2025, and September 1, 2026, you will be automatically approved into the Hand Therapy Program and added to the Roster.

If you are a CHT interested in joining the Hand Therapy Program, and you are already a member of the Recovery Network, please:

  1. Review the Hand Therapy Program Guide to ensure you meet the program requirements

  2. Email [email protected] with your vendor number(s), practitioner number, and a copy of your CHT credential.

If you are a CHT interested in joining the Hand Therapy Program and you are not a part of the Recovery Network, please:

  1. Apply for or update your ICBC Recovery Network account

  2. Review the Hand Therapy Program Guide to ensure you meet the program requirements

  3. Email [email protected] with your vendor number(s), practitioner number, and a copy of your CHT credential.

ICBC Recovery Programs will review your submitted application to determine whether you meet the criteria and will contact you within 5 business days.

Invoicing and reporting

Approved CHTs and Approved Hand Therapy Clinics must use the Health Care Provider Invoicing and Reporting (HCPIR) application or the Health Care Provider Portal (HCPP) to submit invoices​ directly to ICBC.​
